Treasurer Announces $1.7 Million To Support Vermonters Seekinghigher Education Degrees

Montpelier, VT – In a significant move to support the educational aspirations of Vermonters, State Treasurer Beth Pearce today announced the allocation of $1.7 million in funding to support students pursuing higher education degrees. This investment, drawn from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) budget, will provide crucial financial aid to deserving individuals across the state.

“Education is the foundation of a strong economy and vibrant community,” Treasurer Pearce stated. “We are proud to invest in the future of our state by providing this crucial financial assistance to Vermonters seeking higher education.”

The allocated funds will be distributed through various VSAC programs, including scholarships, grants, and loan programs. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on students and their families, making higher education more accessible for a wider range of Vermonters.

“The cost of higher education is a significant barrier for many families,” said VSAC Executive Director Scott Giles. “This funding will allow us to expand our reach and support more students in their pursuit of a college degree.”

This announcement comes at a time when Vermont faces a critical need for a highly skilled workforce. The investment in higher education aims to cultivate a talent pool equipped to meet the demands of the evolving job market.

“By supporting our students, we are investing in our future,” concluded Treasurer Pearce. “This funding will empower Vermonters to pursue their dreams and contribute to the continued growth and prosperity of our state.”
