Informal assessment can take many different forms, but all of them involve assessing student learning through observation or participation in class. Here are five different types of informal assessment:
1. Peer assessment is when students assess each other’s work. This can be done through written comments, during a discussion, or by giving points during a quiz.
2. Group assessment is when students are asked to assess the work of their classmates. This can be done through written comments, during a discussion, or by giving points during a quiz.
3. Show-and-tell is a type of assessment in which students are asked to present their work to the class.
4. Quiz is a type of assessment in which students are asked to answer questions about the material they’ve learned.
5. In-class experiment is a type of assessment in which students are asked to conduct a research project in class.
