Overview of Bethune-Cookman University

Bethune-Cookman University is an urban, private institution associated with the United Methodist Church. The institution ranks well nationally among historically black institutions and universities. The 82-acre site is situated in Daytona Beach, Florida. Students can choose from 35 majors from the institution’s seven academic schools. Professional majors — business, marketing, nursing, and mass communications — are most popular with undergraduates. Outside of the classroom, students will find plenty of opportunities to engage with the campus community via the university’s many clubs and organizations. In athletics, the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats play in the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The institution sponsors eight men’s and nine women’s sports.
