4 Reasons Why We Need More Minority Instructors in Schools and Colleges

The number of minority students enrolled in U.S. schools and colleges is growing at a rapid rate, yet student enrollment is not matched by minority teacher representation. In this article, I will discuss four reasons it is important to have more minority instructors in our schools and colleges. 1. The numbers don’t match up. In K-12 schools, black and Hispanic students are two to three times more common than teachers of the same ethnicity.
